Dental Hygienist Job Growth Projections Throughout North Carolina
The number of dental hygienist jobs in North Carolina is expected to increase by 30% in the ten-year period ending in 2020. Increases are projected in all but one of North Carolina’s Workforce Development Regions. The exception is the Northwest Piedmont region. Job growth in the Centralina region during this period is projected to be even higher than in the state as a whole at 33.3%.
Projections suggest that 300 dental hygienist jobs a year will become available throughout North Carolina. Sixty percent of them will be due to growth in the field. The greatest number of jobs will be in the Capital Area region.
